Jon Wright’s Grabbers got a decent reception at Sundance, and while theres a bit of “hulabaloo” from a distribution point, it should be hitting Irish cinemas and further afield on a general release sooner rather than later. And in any case, it’s been officially selected to be the opening film for the Galway Film Fleadh.
Written by Kevin Lehane, Grabbers tells the story of a small Irish village attacked by giant creatures who seem to have a dislike for alcohol. So everybody gets shit faced drunk to ward off the apocalypse. This may or may not be based on a true story. For further details and tickets etc. jump over to http://www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/
