With The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Frog's Ron Clements and John Musker at the helm, Disney Animation have set CG Animated comedy-adventure Moana for late next year. When the project was announced last year, rumours swirled around that Dwayne Johnson was sought for the role of demi-god Maui, who teams up with the title character, a spirited teenager and born navigator, as they set out in search for a fabled island in the South Pacific world of Oceania. Well, now the man himself has confirmed that he has signed on for the role, and not only that, he will be showing off his singing voice too.
Johnson on any project is always an exciting prospect, and I can't wait to see what he does with a rare voice role. And, on top of that, he's going to sing? Now that is going to interesting.
