With May being eyed as the start of production, Roland Emmerich is busy pulling together the cast for his return to his monument destroying ways, Independence Day 2. Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, and Charlotte Gainsborough are the the new faces for the sequel, with Jeff Goldblum returning as the most Jef Goldblum-y of his 90's super scientist roles, Daniel Levinson. The latest piece of casting is also going old-school, with Emmerich tweeting that Vivica A. Fox is back as Jasmine Dubrow, mother to Usher's grown-up Dylan Hiller.

With Will Smith not returning, the Hiller family will be down one for the sequel, but with Dylan poised as the movie's lead, it look like the son will be taking up the father's heroic ways. As for other returning cast members, Bill Pullman is as yet unconfirmed, but with Hemsworth believed to be cast as President Whitmore's son-in-law, it is likely he will return to give another epic and rousing speech.
Independence Day 2 is set for release June 24th 2016.
