It was a while back that we heard that Benedict Cumberbatch would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange, but it all seemed to be rumours with neither Marvel Studio's or the actor himself making any concrete statements. But now it's official, with Cumberbatch's casting as the egotistical surgeon turned benevolent Master of the Mystic Arts confirmed by Marvel Studios. Speaking of the casting, president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige said, "Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
Directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister), Doctor Strange hits cinemas November 4th 2016, leaving plenty of time for Cumberbatch to grow a very impressive goatee.
