With shooting set to get underway director Steven Soderbergh is wrapping up the final castings for upcoming Liberace biopic Behind The Candlabra. Reports are coming in that Rob Lowe has joined the project. As well as Lowe, Cheyenne Jackson and Boyd Holbrook are also earmarked for roles.
As we know Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are taking the lead roles as the musician and his long time lover, Scott Thorson. It is from Thorson’s memoirs of their relationship and consequent effects on Liberace’s career are played out on the big screen. As we reported previously Dan Aykroyd has joined the project as casting nears completion.
According to Empire Lowe will be playing a plastic surgeon in the movie and Holbrook is to play one of Liberace’s more younger lovers. The role that Jackson is to play has yet to be confirmed amid much secrecy so we will keep you posted on that one. Lowe has been missing from our screens for a while, he was last seen in The Invention Of Lying.
