Announced at this years San Diego Comic-Con, King Kong is being taken back to his roots with Skull Island, which plans to expand on the origins of the 8th Wonder of the World and mysterious and dangerous island he calls. Details on the movie have been very thin on the ground up until now, but now we have news of the first star to join the movie with Tom Hiddleston boarding the movie in what we can only assume is the lead. There is also the official announcement of director, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) taking the helm. The film is set for release on November 4th 2016, and no doubt we will hear more in the coming months as production moves forward.
