With the Summer upon us, the weather is getting better (and in Ireland, we should take advantage of the good weather when we get it), and the Cork Film Festival have come up with a great idea, melding the great outdoors with some absolute cinematic classics. Kicking off on Wednesday 29th of July, and carrying on through the August bank holiday, Films at Fitzy’s will offer people of Cork the chance to experience the wonders of open air cinema on the lawn pavilion of the iconic Fitzgerald Park. The films on offer range from cult classics to horror to the finest Irish animation has to offer. The full list of movies can be found below:
July 29th - Amelie
July 30th - Good Vibrations
July 31st - Song of the Sea (its first time bring shown in Irish)
August 1st - An American Werewolf in London
August 2nd - The Third Man
August 3rd - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Tickets are on sale now right here, and cost €5 per film, with a week long, all in pass coming to €25. Gates open at 9:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to grab a good spot before the movie starts once dusk falls at around 10 p.m. This promises to be an absolutely wonderful experience, the first of its kind in Cork, one that should not be missed.
