The Bourne Ultimatum brought the story of amnesiac secret agent Jason Bourne to a satisfying conclusion, and was a fitting end to Matt Damon's character. But the franchise didn't end there, with The Bourne Legacy bringing in Jeremy Renner stepping into Damon's shoes as a new agent, Aaron Cross, who runs afoul of a shadowy government agency. But even with Renner as the new face of the franchise, Damon's return has always been talked about. The actor has made his stance known for a while, but he reiterated it recently on CNBC, saying, "I've always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director. We've just never been able to come up with a story." It's understandable that he would only work with with Greengrass again on the movie, since the director kicked the franchise up on a gear with The Bourne Supremacy, and it hasn't been able to capture that seem energy since he left it. But Damon went on to say, "It felt like such a good way to end it last time. Having said that, I love the character. I'd love to see what happened to him." It's clear he wants to kick ass as Jason Bourne once again, and hopefully, if the star align just right, we'll see that happen.
