Not content with breaking world wide box office records, Jurassic World is also riding high a bit closer to home, with Colin Trevorrow’s franchise revival opening at number one at the Irish Box Office, bringing in an impressive €1,635,435 since opening on Thursday. This adds up to 72% of all ticket sales around the country being for the long awaited reopening of the park we first visited in 1993.
Thos impressive showing has also led to the movie breaking several Irish box office records, now being the biggest opening on the Island for 2015, beating out Avengers: Age of Ultron’s €1.3 million, and is the biggest opening for the franchise in Ireland since Jurassic Park: The Lost World brought in €602,711. Jurassic world is also Universal’s fourth Irish number one this year, alongside Fast & Furious 7, Pitch Perfect 2, and Fifty Shades of Grey.
