Principal photography has begun Guy Ritchie's King Arthur movie, and as cameras started rolling on this new fantasy action oriented take on Arthurian legend, it was announced that Ireland's own Aidan Gillen, a man no stranger to medieval fantasy thanks to his work on Game of Thrones, has joined the cast as the wonderfully named Goosefat Bill. He will be taking his place beside Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, Jude Law as the villainous Vortigern, Dijmon Hounsou as the warrior Bevidere, Astrid Berges-Frsby as Guinivere, and Eric Bana as Arthur's father, Uther.
Ritchie's take on the legend turns back the clock on a young Arthur, living life in the back alley's of Londinium as the member of a street gang, unaware that he is the rightful heir to the throne of England, taken from him when the tyrant Vortigern stole the title of king when he murdered Arthur's parents. His eyes are opened to the truth when he grasps Excalibur, and throwing in with the Resistance, he must learn to master the sword, and unite the people of his land to overthrow Vortigern.
