Following its sold out premiere at last year’s IndieCork Film Festival, Cork shot drama Dead Dogs is moving further afield after being selected to play at 2015’s Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, an event aimed at bringing attention to the quality work produced by the independent film movement, and an opportunity for film makers to share their work, network, and gain encouragement from their peers.
Directed by St. John’s Central College graduate Ian Ruby, Dead Dogs is a stark and heartfelt portray of mental illness, strugglingly families, and isolation, and was shot in around the city on no budget, with a wealth of local talent in front of and behind the camera. This is a tremendous achievement for all those involved, and well done to all those involved.
