Cork Cine Club offers cinematic adventures from around the globe with a new season of ten films from India, Mexico, Italy, Singapore, Georgia, USA, Laos, France/Iran, Palestine and Australia. An Oscar-winning documentary is part of the Cine Club's 11th season of bringing the best of international independent cinema to Cork film fans.
Films are on Thursdays at 8pm from 25 September through to 4 December in St. John's Central College, just steps from the South Mall.
First up in the season is THE LUNCHBOX (India 2013) which The Guardian calls 'perfectly handled and beautifully acted...a quiet storm of banked emotions'. The New York Times said it is 'a deft and charming first feature by Ritesh Batra...a perfect balance of tact and sentimentality'.
Other Cork Cine Club films to be shown in St. John's Central College on Thursdays at 8pm are THE GOLDEN DREAM (Mexico) on 2 October; SALVO (Italy) on 9 October; ILO ILO(Singapore) on 16 October; IN BLOOM (GRZELI NATELI DGEEBI - Georgia) on 23 October; 20 FEET FROM STARDOM (USA) on 6 November; THE ROCKET (Laos) on 13 November; THE PAST (LE PASSÉ - France & Iran) on 20 November; OMAR (Palestine) on 27 November; and TRACKS (Australia) on 4 December. There is no film on Thursday 30 October.

Tickets are €8.50/€7 which includes a nightly Cine Club membership fee. Tickets are sold at the door. Foreign language films are subtitled. Shorts may be shown before the feature. Films rated CLUB are for 18-years and older.
Cork Cine Club members enjoy pre-screening wine receptions, guest speakers, and the conviviality of sharing a love of world-class cinema. Members often gathering in a local pub for a spirited post-show discussion of the evening's film.
Cork Cine Club is a volunteer-run organisation whose mission is to give local audiences the chance to see a range of world cinema not usually available on commercial cinema screens. Since its founding in 2010, the Cine Club has offered more than 100 of the best in independent films to Cork cinephiles.
