Sleeper hit Sinister was a genuinely scary experience, and one of the movies that immediately comes to mind whenever I think about the current horror movie renaissance. Now, three years later, the first trailer for Sinister 2 has come our way, via Fandango, and I believe it has a very real chance of out doing the original.
With Irish director Ciaran Foy (Citadel) taking over from Scott Derrickson, still on as co-writer with original scribe C. Robert Cargill, Sinister 2 sees demon Buhguul turn his sights on a small farm house that has recently become home to a mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her twin sons. As you tell from the above trailer, things get very creepy very fast, and that's what made me fall in love with this trailer. I rarely get a sense of unease and dread from a trailer to the extent I did with this, the scene with the torch especially. You better believe I am excited about this one.
