Martin Scorsese is to return to the boxing ring for the first time since 1980's Raging Bull, this time to direct a pic about the legendary Mike Tyson.
The news was confirmed by none other than Jamie Foxx in a recent interview, where he also shared the news that he will getting tatted up and piling on some muscle to play the notorious fighter.
Tyson is considered one of the best boxers to ever set foot in a ring, leaving most of his opponents absolutely destroyed in his wake. Add to that a prison sentence for rape in 1992 and a highly publicised fall from grace after biting an opponent's ear off during a fight, and his controversial career seems perfect fodder for the big screen treatment.
One thing to note though; Tyson himself is still only 48 years old and Foxx is 47, so it remains to be seen if Jamie Foxx will play Tyson for the whole movie, whether a younger man will play him to showcase his boxing matches, or if indeed we'll see any fighting at all in the movie. The only thing thats certain is that with the Scorsese seal of approval we're quite excited by this news.
