Things haven't been going that well for The Crow reboot. Last month, we heard that it would be getting a new director, and following that were rumours that lead star Luke Evans was also dropping out, unhappy that the project didn't seem to be moving forward (not surprising since he signed on for the role in 2013). Now, The Wrap are confirming that Evans has indeed left the remake. With an expected shooting date of late spring, this current predicament is certainly not where the project wants to be. Word is that Relativity Studios and director Corin Hardy are currently on the hunt for a replacement.
As a huge fan of the 1994 original, this just hammers home my belief that this just shouldn't be happening. Sure, having the comic's creator James O'Barr on board as creative consultant, and new director Corin Hardy's gothic sensibilities, it did shape up to be something more interesting than when it was first announced. But considering the problems it's been having over the last month, it might be better to just put the project back on the shelf.
