Cartoon Saloon and director Tomm Moore's follow-up to their visually sublime The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea will be making it's European premiere, as well as headlining the festival's Family programme gala, with two screenings on October 18th and 19th. Drawing heavily on celtic folklore, the movie follows two children who find themselves on an adventure in the world of ancient magic, and features the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, Pat Shortt, and Jon Kenny. This marks Song of the Sea's second festival showing, with the movie showing this weekend as part of the children's section of the Toronto International Film Festival. No general release date has being given for the movie, but hopefully we'll see it sooner rather than later.
The 58th BFI London Film Festival runs fro the 8th of October to the 19th.
