He’s a movie star, a TV star, a digital streaming star, a theatre star and now he’s a video game star. Kevin Spacey is “starring” in Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The actor lent his voice and likeness to a pretty phenomenal digital version of himself. In Advanced Warfare, Spacey plays the head of a private military corporation that has attacked the United States. And this isn’t some teeny weeny role,The Usual Suspects star will be appearing as the game’s main antagonist.
And given that the most recent Call Of Duty game topped over $1 BILLION on it’s first day of sales, this will have a sizeable paycheck for Spacey to boot. It’s not the first time videogames have used movie stars. Gary Oldman (Call Of Duty: World At War & Black Ops), Andy Serkis (Enslaved), Jack Black (Brütal Legend) and Ron Perlman (Turok) are just some of the names that have been associated with video games over the years. But with Spacey on board for this, it just seems to give it more conviction and validity. I’d imagine this will open a serious of floodgates as even more Hollywood talent look to get a part of the action.
