It seems the Hollywood Reboot Machine has tapped out the horror classics of the 70's and 80's, now it's moving into the 90's with it's eyes set on I Know What You Did Last Summer. Sony Pictures are planning the reboot, with Oculus writer/director Mike Flanagan on board to pen the script. The teens stalked by a stranger who know they killed accidentally killed a man the Summer previous plot will remain intact, but the movie is said to re-adapt the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan the original movie was based on, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Sarah Michelle Geller, and took some liberties with the source material. I find it interesting this is announced around the same time as Scream, the movie which launched the slasher movie revival the original was spawned from, goes into development as a t.v show. Could another revival of sorts be on the cards?
