A bunch of Ninja turtles crawled out of the sewers at the weekend and raked in around $65 million. As a result, Paramount, have announced that a sequel has been green lit, and the second outing for the heroes in a half shell will return to cinemas on June 3rd 2016.
Adam Goodman, president of Paramount film group says “Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task because as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before, the result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story."
While Irish & UK audiences will have to wait until October to get some sewer action, the turtles have a huge global fanbase and no doubt this will put some more smiles on the Paramount accountants when it’s released elsewhere.
