Next year Fifty Shades of Grey will propel Irish actor Jamie Dornan into the big time, and he is already preparing for a world post Christian Grey's first appearance, signing on for the the lead in Alexandre Aja's (the upcoming Horns) The 9th Life of Louis Drax. The movie is based on Liz Jensen's best selling novel of the same name, with actor Max Minghella (The Social Network, The Ides of March) making his screen writing debut. Dornan plays a doctor brought into investigate the mysterious circumstances of a near fatal fall the young Louis Drax suffered on his ninth birthday. The more he investigates, the more the boundaries of reality and fantasy begin to blur.
Speaking of the script, Aja said, "Max's script takes us on a very personal journey through the deep recesses of the mind, and on a suspenseful Hitchcockian ride. I was drawn to the poignant family drama and the supernatural elements, and am excited to bring this rich and complex story to life". Filming begins this October in Canada. Specifically Vancouver, British Columbia, meaning Dornan will feel right at home as this is where Fifty Shades of Grey was filmed.
