A few months back, Irish director Ciaran Foy (Citadel) was announced to be making his Hollywood debut taking the helm of Sinister 2. Penned once again by C. Robert Cargill and the originals director Scott Derrickson (staying on board as producer) filming begins on the project next week, with Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight's Tale) revealed to be taking on the lead role, a mother of young twins (Robert and Dartanian Sloan), who, as the synopsis puts it, "find themselves in a rural house marked for death". They are joined by James Ransone, who will be reprising his role from the original as the unnamed Deputy.
Nothing much is given away about the sequel, but Foy has proven with Citadel to have a great talent for the horror genre, and with Cargill and Derrickson once again providing the script (they knocked it out of the park the first time, delivering one of the scariest horror movies in recent memory), I am very interested to see what Sinister 2 has in store for us.
