Well, here we are. Some people have been chomping at the bit to see who Paul Feig would choose for his all-female reboot of Ghostbuster, others.......not so much. Regardless of your feelings towards the project, the lead cast has been announced, and the biggest names involved are two no-brainers in the forms of Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. This should not come as a surprise to anyone. They are two of the biggest female comedians right now, and the fact they have worked with Feig before would have helped matters. They were even part of Bill Murray's fantasy cast for the movie. The other cast members, Leslie Jones and Kate Mckinnon, are less well known, but both are current cast members of Saturday Night Live, which is a nice nod to the originals SNL roots. There is no word on who they or playing, or the story, but this reboot is said to be completely separate from the original, with a new premise and cast of characters.
The release date has also been announced, with the reboot set to hit our screens July 22nd 2016. Filming begins this Summer in New York.
