Making his Hollywood debut with the Ryan Gosling directed Lost River, Matt Smith, known to a legion of fans worldwide as the most recent Doctor in Doctor Who, is trading one form of time travel for another for his next movie, signing on for a role in the currently shooting Terminator: Genesis. With the reboot planned as the first part of a new trilogy, Smith's role is apparently small, but major, and will grow in importance in future installments. The Paramount Pictures press release announcing Smith joining the cast didn't give much away about his character, other than he has a strong connection to Jason Clarke's John Connor.
