It was revealed earlier today that Channing Tatum has been cast as fan favorite mutant Gambit (originally played by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) in a future X-Men movie, but it wasn't revealed at the time when we'd actually see him portray the character. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Gambit will be introduced in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse before throwing his charged playing cards in his own movie. It isn't known when that will be, but Fox have had a mystery Marvel movie pencilled in for 2018 for a while now, so could this be it?
Gambit getting his own movie isn't any surprise. Fox have made it known they want to create an X-Men cinematic universe much like what Marvel Studio's have created, and with such a bankable star as Channing Tatum, spinning him off into a solo movie is a no brainer.
