This is brief, and chances are it will never happen. But bare in mind The Dark Knight Rises is arriving amidst a football stadium sized amount of hype (same stadium will blow up in the movie) and I’d guess it will cruise past the billion dollar mark easily enough. What’s that got to do with a sequel? Hang on? A sequel, to The Dark Knight Rises? Are you out of your mind? Not entirely. Christian Bale has spoke to Empire and said the following
“My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it’s appropriate, I think it’s going out at the right time. But…if Chris came to me with a script and said, ‘You know what? There is another story’ then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work.”
Chances are, as mentioned above, it’ll never happen considering Christopher Nolan has said this is the last one, its his trilogy.. But from a studio point of view, surely a fourth Batman movie with the same cast and crew would be far more profitable and successful than doing a reboot on an incredibly successful franchise of movies. Offers that can’t be refused come to mind!!
