For a man about to retire, Kevin smith has a lot on his plate. There's what is planned to be his final movie Hit Somebody (even though Smith has said he wants to make it two films to do it justice), setting up his own independent film production company, not to mention his T.V. show Comic Book Men, S.I.R (Smodcast Internet Radio) and S.I.T (Smodcast Internet Television), and his plans to continue the story of Clerks on Broadway. Now he's adding chronicling the animated adventures of his most famous and beloved characters, Jay and his hetero life mate Silent Bob, to his long list of retirement plans.
There has been rumors of a Jay And Silent Bob cartoon for a while now, but they assumed to be plans for a series of web episodes. Smith announced the movie as only he knows how, saying:
"We're cartoon whores here at SModCo,"
Jay And Silent Bob's Groovy Movie will receive a promotional campaign similar to his last film Red State, with a tour of America before the films commercial release. There is no word on the animation style, if it will be similar to the duo's first foray into animation in the Clerks animated series (see picture above).
