Sacha Baron Cohen turned up at Cinema Con, which according to the Con website, is the largest and most important gathering of movie theatre owners from around the world. The Ali G star was in the house to promote The Dictator delivering some choice lines including this one “I thought I was going to be the only dictator here tonight,” he said. “Imagine my surprise when I found out Jeffrey Katzenberg would be here.”
Continuing with his spiel, he also took a pop at Disney saying “I hope you show my film on all of your screens…Trust me, there are bigger bombs than John Carter.” He also urged Disney to “just shoot the executive” responsible for the film. “Wait a minute, you did” the star continued in an obvious reference to Rich Ross who “left” Disney last week as studio chief.
Chris Rock was also at the con, talking up Madagascar 3 saying “I believe the biggest movie of the summer will be Madagascar 3″ which he says reminded him of Pixar’s Toy Story 3. “It can’t get no better.”
