For all those fans of Kevin Smith there, you’d have probably seen late last year he ahed his beard. While this shouldn’t be news, the reason he did it was at least interesting: he had to don prostethics to play the role of the monsters (the magic of green screen filling every available frame with multiple versions of the podcast loving director) in his latest movie, Yoga Hosers, starring his own daughter Harley Quinn and Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily Rose. He’s kept pretty quite about the project since filming wrapped earlier this year, but with him unveiling the trailer at his annual San Diego Comic-Con panel, he has started to lift lid a little bit and given us a look at the monster he’ll be playing.

Ok, read that description again. “A foot tall Canadian Nazi made of Bratwurst”. I think we can all say we didn’t see this coming. Though, it does shed some light why Haley Joel Osmet was cast as real life Canadian Nazi politician Adrien Arcand. I’ve been looking forward to Yoga Hosers for a while now, mainly down to Smith saying this would be a kid friendly (well, tween at the very least) adventure, something very different from the man who brought us Clerks, Mallrats, and Red State. After seeing this, I’m more hyped, especially to see how far the level of insanity goes. Check out the synopsis below for a small taste of what we’re in store for:
15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith), who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp) to fight for their lives with all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.
