After James Gunn announced at the start of the month he had finished the first draft for the hotly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy 2, there was quite a bit of speculation on what the official title would be. After all, barring the Iron Man 2 and 3, every sequel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a sub title of some sort. Well, after Kevin Feige accidentally let it slip during a press event for Ant-Man, James Gunn has taken to Facebook to announce the continuing adventures for Marvel’s favourite bunch of a-holes will be.......Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

This really fits. Of course, there’s the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 connection, but GotG always felt like the black sheep of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It isn’t your usual comic book property, so having the usual comic book movie title, such as ‘Rise of the Evil Such and Such’ or 'Revenge of The Guys We Didn’t Know About’, wouldn’t feel right, and Vol. 2 really is perfect.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes our way May 17th 2017.
