While his latest project, the troubled remake of The Crow, seems to be hitting problem after problem, director Corin Hardy’s The Hallow is on track to hit our screens at the end of the year, and a new trailer has come our way, showing what this Irish set horror has in store for us.
With nary a demon or slasher in sight, The Hallow uses its countryside setting to its full creepy potential, and its marrying of horror tropes to traditional myths and folklore is refreshing, and sadly something we don’t see too often.
Released: 13th November (IRL/U.K.)
Synopsis: When a London-based conservationist is sent to Ireland to survey an area of ancient forest believed by the superstitious locals to be hallowed round, he unwittingly disturbs a horde of terrifying beings ad must fight to protect his family.
