It appears that Warner Bros might have managed to tie up Wan with another potential franchise, amid reports that he has held talks with the company to direct a standalone Aquaman movie.
Aquaman is being played by Jason Momoa in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, in what will likely be a cameo role, before more beefed-up roles in the Justice League films.
The standalone Aquaman movie is slated for release in 2018, and a lot can happen between now and then, but this is good news for comic-book movie fans; Wan has proven himself more than capable with managing larger than life characters on set, as well as spectacular and grand-scale action.
If this turns out to be true, it's a step in the right direction from Warner Bros, and another statement of intent that they want to find the right people to bring their DC properties to life.
