Opening in cinemas last Friday, Fast & Furious 7 (you can read our review here) has gone on to make quite a dent on the worldwide box office, and in our fair little isle, it went on to take in a record breaking €1.08 million at the Irish Box Office over the Easter weekend, taking in a 48% share of the total market. Currently enjoying the number one spot in the All-Ireland Top 10, the movie has beaten the franchise's previous opening weekend take of €776,000 for Fast & Furious 6.
It is also the second highest opening weekend of 2015 in the country, narrowly beaten by Fifty Shades of Grey, and has taken it's place as Ireland's eighth highest opening Friday of all time, one place above the steamy adventures of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
All in all, it's quite an impressive showing from the seventh installment of the uber-popular franchise.
