With production set to begin next month, Roland Emmerich has been slowly, but surely, getting his cast together for Independence Day 2, with newcomers Joey King, Liam Hemsworth, Jamie Usher, Charlotte Gainsborough, and Travis Tope taking their places beside the old guard of Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, and Jeff Goldblum. Now, two more familiar faces are making are returning, with Emmerich taking to Twitter to first announce that Judd Hirsch would be reprising the role of Julius Levinson, cantankerous father to Goldblum's scientist David.

He later returned to tweet something we all expected, that Bill Pullman will be back as, by now former, President Thomas J. Whitmore, no doubt delivering yet another rousing speech to rally humanity to the monument destroying alien threat.
