With cameras set to begin rolling in April, there's been quite a bit of casting news doing the rounds in the last few weeks for X-Men: Apocalypse, and now director Bryan Singer has announced another addition to his latest foray into the X-Men universe, with newcomer Lana Condor taking on the role of Jubilee. Best known as prominent member of the 90's X-Men cartoon, the mutant, whose power is to create and control energy plasmoids which look like fireworks, has been part of the X-Men universe since her creation in 1989, and has previously appeared in the original X-Men movies, played by Katrina Florence in the first X-Men, and by Kea Wong in X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand.
Jubilee will be rejoining fellow recast mutants Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) for what is said to be the conclusion to the trilogy to X-Men: First Class, with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rose Byrne reprising their roles opposite Jason Isaac as the titular villain.
X-Men: apocalypse is set for release May 27th 2016.
