A teaser in every sense of the word, the first trailer for Mr. Holmes has dropped, giving us a good look at Ian McKellen as literature's greatest detective.
Mr. Holmes has been a movie I've been very interested in ever since McKellen tweeted a picture of himself in costume, all those months back. Save for a brief clip and poster, we haven't seen much of it since then, but this new trailer does shed some light on the project, which sees a retired Holmes re-investigating the case that forced him to hang up deer stalker cap years before. There is an intriguing melancholy feel to the trailer, pointing to Mr. Holmes not only investigating the case, but the mindset of the great detective in his later years.
Mr. Holmes hits cinemas on this side of the the pond on June 19th.
