Warner Bros. chariman and CEO, Kevin Tsujihara, has been talking about the forthcoming onslaught of DC movies. Speaking at the Morgan Stan...
Steeped in realism? We can go round the merry go round all day and night and debate this one. But the real issue here is that DC movies are going to be a little bit edgier. In what way exactly? Contrary to the few miserable Baffleck pictures that have turned up online, are the bat nipples coming back? Will Wonder Woman not use tit tape? Will Superman say "Fuck?" If you want edgier, then Watchmen is what you need. I can't really see how the movies are going to be edgier. By all means add breasts and brutality (from a ratings point of view, say goodbye to the golden teen audiences), but that doesn't matter, if the core product and story are poor to begin with.
Marvel studios have been insanely successful with what they've produced over a very short period of time, and while they wouldn't be classed as edgy, they certainly are highly entertaining. DC and Warner Bros, would be far better off making entertaining comic book movies as opposed to edgier ones. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
