Considering George Lucas' name is attached, it is a surprise that Strange Magic was able to sneak under everybody's radar, but sneak it did, with the animated fairy tale hitting the big screen next year. Lucas provides the story, while Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic (who were the minds behind Rango) deliver some extremely pretty visuals for this magical tale, inspired by William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', that makes great use of popular songs from the last six decades. Check out the trailer below.
Featuring the voices of Evan Rachel Wood, Kristen Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Maya Rudolph, Peter Stormare, and Alfred Molina, Strange Magic reaches the U.S. on January 23rd, and Ireland and the U.K. on February 11th.
