Zoolander 2 has been on the horizon now for many years with a will it / won’t it vibe hanging over it and Ben Stiller for quite some time. It looks like some heels are getting on the catwalk though, as Penelope Cruz is apparently signing on to star in the blue steel sequel. As you’d expect, not much is known about the movie. By all accounts, it’s set 10 years after the events of the original, where the guys have been rejected by the fashion industry due to their age, and as a result are back to square one.
Zoolander 2 will be out whenever. Personally, I wonder is there much appetite for a sequel. While there is quite a bit of cult love for the original, it’s still an overrated movie that really doesn’t warrant a sequel, especially after all this time. It’s not like Stiller is desperate or anything.
