Now in it's eight year, Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival is delighted to announce Guth Gafa Film Week which see the festival spread itself between two locations in Co. Donegal and Co. Meath. The festival will kick off on Saturday October 25th in its spiritual home of Malin, Co. Donegal. The following weekend, November 1st and 2nd, will see the festival to the 18th century Headfort House, close to the historic village of Kells in Co. Meath. In between, the festival will play host to a number of special events, including an international film industry conference, details of which will be announced very soon. Speaking of the festival's expansion, festival director David Rane said, "Ultimately this is about creating opportunities for as wide an audience as possibel to see some of the best documentary films in the world. We have wonderful films to show that deal with many of the most important issues of the day and our aim is to get them out to as many people as we can while retaining the intimacy of the festival"
This year's programme, which is currently been finalised by festival heads, will deal with themes of human rights, and the films, which include both Irish and award winning international submissions, will provide a forum for lively discussion with the film makers in attendance in both venues.
