A Vacation reboot has been in the works for a while now, and after a few stops and starts, the new adventures of the Griswold family attempting to have the perfect family vacation is ready to go, with filming set for next month. Ed Helms takes the role of Rusty Griswold (making this reboot also a sort of sequel, with the possibility that Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will reprise their roles) who follows in his dad's footsteps, taking his family, including wife Christina Applegate, on an ill fated trip across America. Two new cast members have now been announced, with Chris Hemsworth signing on as the husband of Rusty's sister Audery (a role that is still uncast) and Charlie Day as a river rafting guide. The Vacation series is one I have a great deal of time for, so I am looking at this reboot with the same skepticism I have for all reboots. But I am secretly hoping a return trip to Wally World is on the cards.
