The first movie in a proposed franchise, the wheels are starting to turn on Guy Ritchie's vision of the King Arthur legend, with Charlie Hunnam signing on to heft Excalibur as the mighty king of Britain. He joins Idris Elba who had already been cast as Arthur's mentor, a "Merlin-esque figure" who teaches him the ways of being a good king. There have been no other cast members announced, but rumours are floating around that Elizabeth Olsen is wanted for the female lead.
The movie is set for a July 22nd 2016 release date.
