With a distinct whiff of Crash coming off the project, director John Herzfeld's (2 Days in the Valley) Reach Me, telling a number of separate stories connected by a self help book written by a reclusive football coach, had quite the rocky production, with the budget drying up principal photography. Herzfeld took to Kickstarter to raise the rest of the budget. The goal was surpassed, but the campaign was cancelled before it reached it's goal date, only to turn up on Indiegogo (because of its 'more flexible' format, and it allowed international contributions and pledges of over $10,000), where it again surpassed its goal.
Now we have the trailer, and for the life of me, I can't make out what is going on here. Thomas Jane is a police officer who seems to model himself off old western heroes. Sylvester Stallone runs a news web site, and maybe is a professional artist. Kelsey Grammer and Terry Crews turn up for some reason. There are so many different stories hinted at here, that it is really hard to get a handle on what Reach me is as a movie. Check it out for yourself below.
