Don Cheadle has had a Miles Davis movie knocking about for the bare bones of a decade and it’s finally moving forward thanks a a successful crowd funding campaign. It’s not an entire biopic of the jazz legend, instead the movie will focus on Davis’ return to music after a self imposed 5 year hiatus, which music fans will know as his “Silent Period”
The first pic has been released of Cheadle as Davis and it is rather fantastic. As well as starring, Cheadle will sit in the director’s chair to boot. Ewan McGregor, Michael Sthulbarg and Emayatzy Corinealdi will also star and shooting of “Miles Ahead” begins this week in Cincinnati.
The House Of Lies actor told Entertainment Weekly that its surreal “It’s a great shot; it’s kinda cool, huh? I attribute that to my department to more than anything I’m doing: That’s hair, makeup, wardrobe, and props. But it’s cool to be sitting on it and have it all begin. At this point, with everything that’s happening, its real and surreal and hyperreal and every version of it that I can think of.”
