We're not shy about our love for Guillermo Del Toro's giant robots vs. giant monsters epic here at The Movie Bit (we even gave it five stars in our review), so you can imagine how excited we that Legendary Pictures and Universal Studios have announced a release date for round two. A few weeks back, Del Toro revealed he was working on the script for the sequel with Zak Penn, but it still didn't have a greenlight. Well, that has all changed with Pacific Rim 2 heading our way on April 7th 2017. Sure it's a ways out, but more Jaeger/Kaiju smackdowns are finally set in stone. It'll be interesting to see what is store this time round, since the ending of the original was quite definitive, but no doubt, coming from Del Toro, it'll be mind blowing.
