It was one of the scariest movies of recent years, and another feather in the cap, after Let Me In, for the revitalised Hammer Studios, so it's no surprise that a sequel to the Daniel Radcliffe starring The Woman In Black is in the works. Okay, it's a bit of surprise. Nothing much was known about the project other than Jon Croker, story editor on the original, is writing the script. While no new details have been dropped on a cast or crew, a plot synopsis has been released, which gives some interesting details about the story:
Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant. Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.
I really don't know how to feel about this project. The original was great example of the horror genre, expertly constructed and presented. I don't know if a sequel would capture everything it had going for it. Guess only time will tell.
