Quentin Tarantino has just added another star name, Jonah Hill, to the a-list cast of his ‘southern’, slave epic Django Unchained.
Strange, given that production began months ago on QT’s latest offering which already boasts Jamie Foxx in the titular role; the freed slave-turned-bounty hunter Django, Christoph Waltz as his German mentor: Dr. King Schultz, Leonardo diCaprio as Calvin Candie; the dastardly plantation owner from which Foxx and Waltz must rescue Django’s wife Broomhilda (played by Kerry Washington), Tarantino favourite Samuel L. Jackson as Candie’s house slave Stephen and many more stars to boot.
Empire reports that Hill had previously been linked with a part in the movie but could not accept due to scheduling conflicts. Now it seems Tarantino has found an, as yet, unspecified role for Hill to play.
As a major Tarantino fan and having already read the impressive, final draft of the script, (which is available online, should you get the urge to read it) I’m majorly excited for Tarantino’s first explicit venture into the western genre.
