Legendary actor, the excellent Michael Mckean has been released from hospital following a car crash last week. The Spinal Tap star sustained a broken leg will miss the remainder of the Broadway musical “The Best Man” in which he was appearing. McKean has been transferred to hospital for further rehabilitation. Mckean seen recently in the brilliant TV show, “Homeland”, was walking on a sidewalk in New York when he was accidentally struck by an out of control car.
On Wednesday, McKean checked out of St. Luke's Hospital and into partner facility Roosevelt Hospital for what a hospital spokesperson described as "extensive rehabilitation,"
McKean had this to say:
"I am heading into week two with renewed admiration for New York City’s Emergency Medical Service staff, the NYPD, the staff of St. Luke's Hospital (where I was born!) and all those with problems much greater than my own, I am overwhelmed by the good wishes of friends old and new. My family has been wonderful. My wife Annette, whom I've always suspected of being a saint, has proven to be somewhat more than that."
For those movie buffs out there who haven’t seen the star in the superb This Is Spinal Tap, you should definitely check it out, not to be missed.
We here at theMoviebit.com wish him a speedy recovery.
