Another video game adaptation in the works it seems, Sony Pictures plans to turn Shadow of the Colossus into a movie which has been rumoured for some time. Now it seems the rumours are gaining momentum with the news that the project may at last have a director. Word is Josh Trank who directed Chronicle earlier this year has signed on to oversee things.
Shadow of the Colossus, which was released exclusively on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, centres around a man called Wander who travels across a cursed wasteland and battles numerous monsters, known as the colossi, in order to save the life of a girl. At one juncture Justin Marks was attached to script the film that has since been abandoned and now the studio is looking for writers. Trank is set to be a busy man soon; word is that there are a number of very high profile projects to which he will attach himself, notably the Spiderman spin off Venom. His name has also been connected with a reboot of 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four as well.
