Recently seen as David, Michael Fassbender's boss in Shame, actor James Badge Dale has signed on as Eric Savin, a villain in the Shane black directed Iron Man 3. What's interesting is that Savin, better known as cyborg Coldblood, has never appeared in the Iron Man comics. He will share villain duties with Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley. Considering the movie is based on the storyline 'Extremis', which concerns a nano bot virus that essentially upgrades the human body and imbues those infected with super powers, and Savin's history as a cyborg, I wouldn't be surprised if the character is infected with the virus, setting him up as physical threat for the hero.
Also another new casting for the movie is Rebecca Hall (The Town), who replaces the previously announced Jessica Chastain as a scientist who is described as a match for Tony Stark in the intelligent stakes. Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle reprise their roles for the sequel, which will begin shooting this month.
